1961 Rickenbacker 450 Combo Maple-Glo

Rickenbacker 450s have a special place in my heart.
This is a 1961 with perfectly balanced pickups and a beautiful flame-maple body. Weighing just about 5.9 pounds, its got a 25.5 inch scale with the feel of a short-scale body. Moreover, what makes these things special is the neck-through construction. From headstock to tailpiece, there’s one piece of wood for the neck, bringing crazy sustain and resonance only a Gibson Firebird can compete with.
This guitar’s got all original hardware and electronics. The only thing that was replaced was the original white pick guard, swapped for a Pick Guardians gold guard. However it does retain the original gold plexi truss cover. Comes with the original silver hard shell case.

1946 Epiphone Zephyr – Modded w/P90s!

This 1946 Epiphone Zephyr is pretty killer. It’s a smaller bodied guitar, similar to a Gibson ES-150. The two P90s give it a killer rock or jazz vibe, depending on what amp you put it through and how much drive you give it.
The neck is a nice C shape, but isn’t super fat. Feels like a late-50s Gibson. It’s got a killer maple flame back, sides, and neck. The rosewood fret board features cool crossed-blocks.
These pickups weren’t original to the guitar. These normally had a single pickup with two controls, however many of them were modified. This one is no different. I built and created a new bracket that holds a pair of disks in place to cover the original electronics without screwing them into the guitar.
Speaking of building… I designed and built replicas of the Epiphone knobs from this era. You’ll notice it’s got two sets in the photos: white & black. I’ll include both sets with the guitar when it’s sold.
There’s a crack in the side where the input jack was added, but it’s been stabilized and isn’t going anywhere. Otherwise, the guitar’s in great condition with no other structural issues. There’s some checking in the finish below the bass side of the instrument’s low-E string, but this is only lacquer checking.
Finally, one of the tuning knobs seems to have been replaced by someone who liked to carve and whittle… It seems that they got a piece of plastic and shaped the knob like an original.
